The 2007 Ford E350 15 Passenger Van
There are a couple of notable changes for the 2007 E350 van series. First of all the V10 engine option has been discontinued. Standard features now include an electronic throttle control and an engine cooler.
15 passenger vans are known to rollover and this has been a concern for Ford for a number of years. To help with stability all E350 vans with a 5.4 liter, V8 engine currently have a rollover avoidance feature included.
The gross weight vehicle rating is now 8,500 pounds and this was done by adding a stronger driveshaft and an antiroll bar in the rear. Other options for 2007 include rear parking sensors and a choice of a heavy duty alternator of 135 amps.
The 2007 E series of 15 passenger vans is made up of the Super Duty and the E350 Super Duty Extended. The main difference is that the E350 has a standard wheelbase which allows for seating for up to 12 people. The Extended Super Duty has a larger wheelbase allowing it to accommodate 15 people.
The main benefit of the E350 passenger vans is its ability to carry more people. While a minivan may be more comfortable it can only seat 7 people. Your other choices for a 15 passenger van include looking at the Chevrolet Express, the GMC Savanaand the Dodge Sprinter.
While some of these may offer more features and comfort, the E350 van does offer a diesel V8, which the others don’t. Plus Ford vehicles have a long history of wonderful reliability.
The 2007 E350 has three different trim packages that you can choose from. The XL, XLT and the top of the line Chateau trim package.
The basic XL trim package comes with 16 inch steel wheels and a Class I tow preparation pack. On the inside the seats are covered in a vinyl material. You do get air conditioning and a basic AM/FM radio.
With the XLT trim the additions include halogen headlights, chrome bumpers along with power windows, mirrors and locks. Interior features include a six speaker CD system, cruise control, carpet on the floor and a rear air conditioner. The seats in this model are covered in cloth.
The more luxurious Chateau trim comes with alloy wheels, running boards and a keyless entry system. Inside you will have privacy glass installed and captain chairs on the second row.
Options and upgrades for this passenger van include a sliding cargo door, upgraded tow packages along with towing mirrors. Inside you can choose a powered driver’s seat, leather seats and a CD player for 6 CD’s.
There is an additional engine upgrade available on the E350 van. You can choose the 6.0 liter turbo diesel V8 engine with 5 speed automatic transmission. This upgrade is not cheap and currently costs around an extra $5,000.
