The 2013 Ford E350 follows along in the tradition of the previous models of E350s. As a result, it provides enough comfort to get around, but it’s not built primarily for comfort; it’s built to haul the heavy stuff and/or an army of people (15 maximum). This is why it’s known as “Super Duty.” The standard version holds a 5.4-liter V-8 engine that can deliver 255 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The upgraded model can hold a 6.8-liter V-10, delivering 305 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque.
It’s important to note, though, that this is the last of the E-Series, as next year’s model is the new, updated Ford Transit van.
As you might expect, this model is built sturdy and “Ford Tough.” It has 16-inch steel wheels, all-season tires to handle virtually any terrain, and a rear door that opens wide. There are some options with the E350: Either standard or extended body, and either side panels or rear windows. Further options include privacy glass, painted white steel wheels or forged aluminum, a chrome or black rear step bumper, and a side cargo door that slides open.
This model can tow up to 10,000 pounds and has a maximum payload of 4,050 pounds. There can be an amazing 278 cubic feet of cargo hauled by the E350. If you need even more room, the extended body model can haul up to 319.1 cubic feet, yet still tow the same impressive amount of 10,000 pounds. In the cargo only model, two people sit in vinyl Captain’s chairs.
Some of the features include a tilt steering wheel, power steering, and air conditioning so you ride comfortably on your long hauling trips. Plus, you have access to a two-speaker AM/FM stereo that allows for MP3 audio input. If you want further options, you can have satellite radio, a power driver’s seat, cruise control, and cloth upholstery.
Both the safety of your cargo and yourself are of paramount importance, and the E350 delivers. For your cargo, the SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft system and the E-Guard Cargo Protection system work together to maintain its safety. You and your passengers are protected via front and rear disc brakes, along with a four-wheel anti-lock braking system. You also have the benefit of traction and stability control, front seat belt pretensioners, and tire pressure monitoring.
The 2013 Ford E350, like its predecessors, delivers in terms of its hauling capacity, both of cargo and of people. You have spacious room, and while the main focus is not luxury, it has enough amenities where you’ll have a smooth ride and enjoy getting to your destination thanks to comfortable seating, air conditioning, and a stereo that can handle MP3s. Of course, its calling card is its powerful engine that can help you deliver whatever cargo you have wherever it needs to go. It delivers that, and much more, along with the ability to protect your cargo and your passengers.
